Originally this dance depicts an offering to the gods/deities. Nowadays, the pendet dance is performed to greet people and danced by a group of girls who will throw flowers to the audience at the end of the performance. The happines of the dancers in welcoming the guests is represented through the beautiful and energetic movements of the dancers.
