why is the song titled Boats and Birds?

I was never actually completely sure. I know the boats part is because of the line that talks about the boat and the sea, but the birds throw me off. I think they just wanted something with alliteration that worked with the flying away bit. It would make more sense if it was like, Rockets and Boats, but the title that it has is better. Then again, I tend to read into things too much...
